Cellular Mechanotransduction and Biomaterials Lab

 

N. Gallant, ENG229A/B - The Cellular Mechanotransduction and Biomaterial Laboratory investigates the mechanical and biochemical interactions between cells and their microenvironment to control cell behavior. We are developing biomaterial engineering strategies, including surface micropatterning, nanofibrous texturing and combinatorial analyses of mechanical and biochemical signals, to manipulate cell-matrix adhesions and control tissue formation.

Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment System Lab

Alqasemi, IDRB114 - The interdisciplinary CAREN (Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment) System Laboratory is part of the Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation & Robotics Technologies (CARRT). The CAREN system is used for fundamental research, analysis and creation of innovative technology solutions across disciplines that can be rapidly evaluated, tested, prototyped and commercialized.

REEDlab

 

K. Reed, IDRB114 - The Rehabilitation Engineering and Electromechanical Design Lab (REEDlab) aims to enable effective rehabilitation by augmenting the fundamental human dynamics to affect a beneficial change in the cognitive perception of human motion. Their research covers gait patterns and upper limb rehabilitation while using haptics to convey information to individuals.

Rehabilitation, Robotics and Prosthetics Testing

Dubey, RRT - 13337 USF Laurel Dr., The Rehabilitation, Robotics and Prosthetics Test (RRT) lab is one of the laboratories for the Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation & Robotics Technologies (CARRT). RRT is divided into two parts: 1) applied biomechanics testing and data collection area and 2) design and education area.

Rehabilitation Robotics Lab

 

R. Alqasemi, S. Sundarrao, R. Dubey, EGN19A - This Robotics lab is part of the Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation & Robotics Technologies (CARRT). Facilities include a PUMA 562 6-joint robotic arm, an RRC 7-joint robotic arm, two wheelchair-mounted robotic arms, a brain-computer interface (BCI 2000), Omni haptic devices, various user interface devices, and stereovision camera.
